Busby's Favorite MJ Tracks: Butterflies (Invincible)

Invincible would be sadly the last album made by Michael Jackson. This was the first album made by MJ in 4 years, and please believe the hype was real. Now IMO this album is my least favorite albums made by Michael. It wasnt bad, it wasn't good, it was just wasn't up to MJ standards in my book. However, there WERE quite a few stand out tracks on there, songs like Unbreakable, Break Of Dawn, Heaven Can Wait, 2000 Watts, & Cry.

My favorite song on this album is the Floetry penned track Butterflies. This track is so good, I am so surprised that Michael didn't write it. MJ's vocals on this track are amazing, and it gives you that calm soothing feel. For some reason when I first heard this song I thought Dr. Dre produced it, IDK why but it kinda sounds like something he would make. Marsha Ambrosius sang her little melody on this track too and help bring this song to life. I was kinda mad that Sony pulled the plug on the campaign for the album because this song could have REALLY made some noise. I would have KILLED a nigga to see MJ perform this song live...he probably was going to do that at This Is It, but now we will never know...

Busby's Favorite MJ Tracks: Is It Scary (Blood On The Dance Floor)

Here is sum HIStory for ya about this song, Is It Scary was originally intended for the HIStory album. However, MJ recorded so many songs for the album that they HAD to cut it down. Although Is It Scary was one of MJ's favorite tracks, they had to cut it because it did not fit where with the flow of the album. The song was then going to be used for the Addams Family Values soundtrack, but then the studio cut the song from the soundtrack because they thought the song was too dark for the movie. So then MJ just said fuck it, and through it on the Blood On The Dance Floor album.

Blood on the Dance Floor would be the last time we heard from MJ for 4 years. During the HIStory tour, MJ thought it would be nice to release some new material for the fans. Blood on The Dance Floor had 5 previously unreleased material, along with a few remix tracks. In my opinion, I don't really count the remix tracks, with the exception of the Scream (Flyte Tyme Scream Louder Mix), damn near ALL the HIStory remixes on that album is garbage. I read some where that MJ originally wanted Blood On The Dance Floor to be an EP with just the new tracks. However, Sony didn't understand the power that MJ had and forced him to put all those crappy remixes on the album. Nevertheless Blood On The Dance Floor became one of the highest selling remix albums of all time, take that Diddy..

Now my favorite track on this album is Is It Scary, this track is perfection at its finest. Janet's producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis really made an EPIC on this track. The song plays almost like a storm, the first 5 seconds of the track you hear nothing but a haunting wind blow. Then a piano calmly starts playing very soothing like a light sprinkle in a rain shower. After that, you hear a haunting bass come in like thunder, and then the REAL song begins. MJ's vocals on this track is AMAZING, this track gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. My favorite part of the song is the bridge, when the song switches up on you like the eye of the storm. Then when Michael says "IS IT SCARY FOR YOU BAABY?!" the song just becomes a MONSTER. I rarely listen to this track in a car because I am scared it will blow out the windows. Then after MJ sings the final note, the song tones down, with only a piano playing very lightly the same way it began. I like how in the end of the song you hear that final piano key and you hear the wind blow letting you know that you should press that rewind button. This is song is one of my all time FAVORITE MJ songs.

, Kanye couldn't have said it any better then that. At this point in time, Michael Jackson became one of the biggest artist in the WORLD. Now think about that for a second, MJ became SO big, that no matter WHERE he want, people will KNOW who he is. He could go to the deep jungle in the Congo, and the tribal people would know his name. In 1995, Michael Jackson was a living breathing living legend. With the HIStory album, he wanted to show the world that you haven't seen NOTHING let.

The album was a double disc, the first disc, HIStory Begins, was a greatest hits compilation, while the second disc, HIStory Continues, was filled with original material. The first track on the album, Scream, is my favorite track on the album. The song is the first and sadly ONLY time that his little sister Janet did a song with her brother. During this time, the child molestation allegations was spreading through out the media, and it painted MJ as a monster. You can tell on this song, that MJ was fed of up of the bullshit, and all he wanted to do was pent out his frustation.

The video was epic in its own way, costing over $7 Million, the Scream video is the most expensive video EVER made. With a price tag like THAT, you know that Mike had money to blow. I especially love the ending shot in the video where you see everything get distorted. Janet was looking different too, when I first saw the video I had NO idea that was Janet Jackson, she even sang differently then how she usually sings. Janet's producers, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, laced this song REAL good, and it wouldn't be the last time they produce an MJ track. Every time I hear this song, I always rewind it and I could sometimes never make it through the entire album.

The only thing bittersweet about this track is that Michael and Janet NEVER performed this song together live together. Mike always performed the song at his concerts but I sometimes hated when he did it because he would be singing Janet's parts and I would always think "DAMN, why can't Janet just perform the song ONCE with him for a change, that would be nice..". Well last year at the VMA's she did =/



Overall, Michael & Janet's Scream will always be one of my favorite songs from MJ's legacy.

Busby's Favorite MJ Tracks: Who Is It (Dangerous)

Now out of all of MJ's albums, THIS track is the one I blast the most. This is one of the BEST beats that Michael Jackson has EVER made. IMO I put this beat right up there with Billie Jean, real talk. The bass can just blow out your speakers, and the strings used through the whole track gives me ghoosebumps. Mike's vocals is chilling when he sings desperately to himself asking why his chick left him for someone else. You can literally feel the pain in his voice, you can feel the torture his heart is giving him from not knowing who his chick left him for. That was one of the talents Michael had, he can sing a song with SO much emotion, and you can literally BELIEVE that he feels that certain way. That my friends is what we call an artist. I remember I used to play the HELL out of this song on Dangerous when I first heard it. From the chilling choir in the intro, to the first sound of the bass, to MJ's ad-libs in the end when he starts singing "Can you REALLY feel I'm LONELY!!" man I can go on..

Yeah so as you can tell I am a real Stan for this song. Dangerous is another classic from MJ's catalog. The album is produced mostly by new jack swing king Teddy Riley. He brought this album to LIFE with his instrumentals. Especially with tracks like Jam, Why You Wanna Trip On Me, She Drives Me Wild, Remember The Times, Can't Let Her Get Away, and Dangerous. However, MJ outshined him with Who Is It, which was produced entirely by the king himself. Out of all of MJ's albums, Dangerous is one of all time favorite MJ albums, right next to Off The Wall..

Busby's Favortie MJ Album Tracks: Leave Me Alone (Bad)

Bad came out 4 years after that monster album, Thriller. MJ's main goal was to have Bad be BIGGER then Thriller. However, even through it sold over 8 Million units, it failed to match the numbers that Thriller had. But that is besides the point, Bad IMO was a pretty good album. Like Thriller, damn near the entire album was on the Billboard charts..at the SAME TIME! (BOSS!!). Now this one was kinda tough to choose, but Leave Me Alone edged it out in my mind. The song was a bonus track on the album, and the song was pretty much talking about how he wants a girl to leave him the fuck alone so he can be the king of this music shit. This song is one of my favorite MJ tracks because it was very catchy. Of course Quincy Jones did his magic again, and of course MJ ripped it with his voice. The video was pretty cool too, with the whole MJ being a carnival and the paparazzi treating him like he was circus act. You guys have NO idea how hard it is to pick these tracks, because MJ had hits for DAYS, he was pretty much BORN with the number 1 painted on his forehead. Leave Me Alone is one of them tracks that edged it out because i was going to pick Another Part Of Me. BUT, Leave Me Alone has been my song since I first heard it when I was kid...
